Headache English

I think is very difficult learn English in the university because the people have other interests. The university only is difficult, and learns other language is more difficult. My experience with English class was strange, because I put off twice the English class for other class of the university, in second and third grade the English class was in the morning, and I prefer study for workshop class because this subject was more important for me, the new hour of English is more comfortable.

 The blogs are a great idea, is very interesting because I practice all weeks the English with this platform, this language is difficult for me, I’m really bad for learn this. Before I don’t speak English, no word, because it made me nervous, this is terrible for me, but now I speak a little of English and this is an achievement for me, I’m really pleased.

I think is necessary for me learning more English, but I feel that English in university didn’t advantage of it well. This semester was very complicated for me, because in the hour of English class, I had to work in other places and was impossible for me coming for the English classes.

In my life I don’t use much English, because I don’t relate to people who speak English, but is an important tool for read the console table’s manuals of lighting or other instruction, because in general it’s in English or Chinese haha, but don’t it’s in Spanish. I wait travel for the world and speak in other languages, no English exclusive, and practice really the English.

Theatrical Design

The career Theatrical design of the Universidad de Chile was modificated a few years ago, for this reason you thought that doesn’t need changes. But this is a irreal thinking, because Theatrical Design need a lot of changes to be better.

First, the building, the Theatre’s Departament of the Universidad de Chile is really poor and small, is very sad but is real. I think that is very necessary change the infraestructure because the classmates are uncomfortable, in Winter the building it rains and is very cold. I remember once the courtyard was flood and was impossible go to the classrooms for this reason. Also the classrooms are insufficient, in ultimate grade of Theatrical action don’t have classroom, and in third grade of Theatrical design the classroom is very small and have smell to urine of cat, really! The patio is very small and with the scenography the patio disappear, and for this reason Alejandro, the butler want take out the trash and this is a problem for the students.

Also the curriculum, is very interesting, but I think it lacks practical content, in three areas, costume, scenography and lighting, but mostly to lighting.

The teaching methods I think are very related with the curriculum, I don’t know that specify of this, because when don’t working the teaching methods the students do know. Once with my classmates were dissatisfied with a teacher because for two years passed the same subject and and we decided to denounce this situation so they had to send the teacher to pedagogy class so he could go back to teaching.

The center of the injustice

In these days in my mind the Camilo Catrillanca’s case has been very present. I think in the cruelty of the humanity. I think this territory is sunken in the capitalism. It hurts that they are killing us, the State, the power, the Goverment are killing us and the people don’t say nothing, don’t hurt, the people laugh and blame that more poor, more black. To the most slanted eyes and the hardest skin.

The people justify the action of the Carabineros and say that were do they work but I don’t belive this, for me is a homicide, they want hurts Camilo Catrillanca.

Sorry for all these but I’m really hurt, is impossible for me don’t think in my family that live in the region of Araucania, in a indigenous comunity in the south of this country. I’m city’s Mapuche, but I really love this territory, I love the people that live in.

I know the poverty and abandomnet in which the State of Chile has to indigenous people. I think is important that the State take charge of the Carabineros’s violence and return the territory to the Mapuche, because is responsability for the State the territorys have been lost.

For me is very sad read in Facebook comments saying ‘indio’ and ‘mapuchito’, or saying that all Mapuche are lazy and drunk and are a scourge. The comments offend me because my skin is white, I live in the capital city, I study in Universidad de Chile, but I’ll never stop being Mapuche, because this is in my blood.

Fauvorite TV show

The truth I don’t have a favourite TV show or fauvorite movie. I’m very scattered in all things, so it’s difficult choose one thing for me. But i’ll write about one of my favourites  series, a anime called Hunter x Hunter. I like since I was a child. I remember saw in my bed the weekend, and this was my panorama in the mornings. I remember watching this anime in cable TV, in ETC channel, I don´t like the anime in general, but with this I fall in love hahahaha.
I'm started to see again and I don't boring with this.

Hunter x hunter is a manga of Yoshihiro Togashi. Have two anime versions, the first produced in 1999 at 2001 with 62 episodes, the second produced in 2012 at 2014 with 148 episodes.

The story is about a child called Gon Freecss, Gon leaves his house on Whale Island to become in a hunter like his father, Ging Freeccs, Gon don’t know Ging, only seen in a photography that had his aunt, Mito.

In the travel to take the test Gon know new friends, Leorio, Kurapika and Killua, they wish to become hunters too.

The first TV serie was produced by Nippon Animation, directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi. The second TV serie was produced by Madhouse and directed by Hiroshi Köjina.

One of my favorite moments is the saga of the chimera ants in general, but I love the participation of Netero, the president of the hunters association, so I leave the link of a small part.

Postgradute studies

In the future, I’d like to study Lighting Technology or Lighting Design, because deepening my knowledge of lighting is really important to me. I really like lighting. In general, I work as a lighting technician and I have learned many things, but having formal studies is necessary, on the one hand, learning practical skills and, on the other, the theoretical stuff.

I have a problem. I haven’t thought about what direction I should choose for my future career. As far as I know, there are two interesting areas in my work: Lighting Technology and Lighting Design. The difference between these two courses is that  lighting technology is more technical; Lighting Design more artistic.

In Chile there are no offers about these courses, so it’s impossible to study those programs here. That’s why,  I´d like to study in Spain. There are two study programs there, Lighting Technology at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the other one at Lighting Design at Istituto Europeo di Design Madrid.

Also I’d like to study the course of Linguistic Ethnology and Indigenous culture at the Faculty of Social Science and Departament of Anthropology of Universidad de Chile.

My future job

It’s difficult to think in a future job exclusive, in this career the designers ever have a lot of jobs because is difficult take one job, the work is very hard and it’s a poorly pain.

I really like work as a technician, I learn all days in it work on LEDs equipment, robotized equipment, lighting consoles and other things, but I don’t think it’s my eternal job, I would like a job I could teach,

Favourite food

My favourite food/recipe is a complicated theme for me, because I don’t know what to talk, first I talk about my favourite fruit, it’s the avocado, I really really love, it’s the most delicious thing in the life ever, for me I eat avocado all day, but is so expensive, is very sad because is a deluxe food, when I traveled to Bolivia the first time I really suffered because the avocado is very unsightly, it’s like eating avocado with water, really bad, the first thing I did when I arrived in Chile was eat bread (marraqueta) whit avocado. The bread also is really bad in Bolivia, the sweet bread and the bread with anise it’s disgusting for me.

I don´t have a recipe with avocado to teach, because in general I eat avocado alone, in a salad or in a bread.

But I teach a vegan brownie recipe, I really like it. The secret of brownie is cocoa, bitter cocoa is the most important ingredient. 

Social Network

When the social networks appeared, I only used Facebook because the rest of the social networks seemed unnecessary and confusing to me.

Currently the social network that I use the most is WhatsApp because it's vital to be able to communicate with my classmates at university or to get a job.

WhatsApp not only use it to work and study, it also helps me to be in contact with my family because product of study and work I'm usually not on weekends or evenings that are the moments to share, so it's even more important to check the messages that reach me.

I check my WhatsApp several times a day, the last time I didn't check it for two days I had more than 650 unread messages, so for me it's fundamental to see it several times because if the messages come together it's boring to read them and answer them hahaha.

Being honest, I'd love to use less my cell phone because I don't like to feel that I depend on.

I think that social networks are now very necessary, they fulfill important functions in life each of them, for example on Instagram (I became one very recently) I can share photographs of my work and travel, and I can see photographs of my interest, besides seeing many hahahaha memes, they are very important for moments of relaxation.

A country I'd like to visit

A country I'd like to visit in a holiday trip is Thailand, is a mysterious country for me, the Southeat Asia it’s so far, strange  and different, and that’s  attractive to me.

The Thailand culture is different to the western culture, the most people is Bhuddist, and I’d like know the religion, the monuments and history. This is the reason why I’d love to visit Bangkok, capital city of Thailand.

Other place I’d love to visit is The Chiang, is a land of misty mountains and colourful hill tribes, the architecture is amazing. I’d like to visit one week and walk in a oriental street.

I’d like visit the Khao Sok National Park, a dense jungle in the south of Thailand with rivers, a beautiful lake, animals and cooling air. I’d like to trekk in the nature and breathe pure air, this Paradise is a dream for me.

And finally I’d like to visit the Maya Bay, a famous paradisiacal beach of Thailand. I’d like to swim, walk in the sand, and  hire a boat and see the sun going down.

Who is a person on your field that you admire?

I admire the work of the stage arts designer Leticia Skrycky, I knew her work very recently and I really liked her, she comes to work at NAVE at times and soon she will work in a workshop in that place.

Leticia is a 33 years old, designer, studied at the Municipal School of Dramatic Art in Montevideo, Uruguay, specializing in lighting and space design. Since 2011 she participates in different international festivals showing her work as a designer in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, Serbia, Kenya and more. Currently working in the Technical Direction of the International Dance Festival of Uruguay.

She also works with numerous choreographers and Uruguayan and foreign companies, which has brought her several times to Chile.

What attracts me to his work is that I develop it specifically in dance, something that in Chile does not usually happen and that seems very interesting, I also like that sometimes works from restrictions and discomforts to the body, because from that exploration emerge different ways to build a show.

The photographs are of the work Resist, what I like is the exposure of the bodies in front of the woods that are coming out of the floor.

A year-round trip

I have thought a lot about what I would do if I had a year to travel, I always thought that I would go to Latin America, I would work as a volunteer in different cities and I would go to small towns, I would like to introduce myself to the Amazons and to know the indigenous peoples and learn from them as much as you can, learn how they live, how they relate and how they connect with nature.

I would also take advantage of knowing the Sacred Valley in Cusco, I have traveled twice to that city and I think I have not known anything since it has millions of places to discover, it is a  magical place and that excites me.

I would also take advantage of staying in Puno, Peru for a while, as a family on my last trip opened the doors of their house and welcomed me for almost two weeks, so I would enjoy sharing with them a while knowing even more the city and its surroundings.

I'm thinking about this trip a long time ago, so I hope I can realize my dream soon, because I really wish I could get to know this continent in depth, I like its charm and it captivates me a lot.

Final semester

This semester has been very intense, I had the opportunity to work with very interesting people in theater and I have started to work in contemporary dance in lighting and scenic design, this has been exhausting because it means working with different people in different contexts, the last work was in Copiapó with a contemporary dancers from all over the country and it was a interesting experience for me.

 Also I had make compatible my work with my last year of career, and this is very difficult for me, because I like make all things of the world but this is impossible. In the university the most difficult is my little interest, because I like it much more the work that I can develop outside the  university space that is more restricted for me, the courses are very interesting but the system of being in a chair in front of a blackboard bores me.

I have to work in my studies for the next semester, I hope this year is the last one at the university, I hope my sacrifice is rewarded.

I wish I could follow working in lighting and scenic design because I like this, I choose this career without thinking that I would really like and I was impressed.

Favourite subject

The subject I choose was a course called “Indigenous People today (Pueblos Indígenas hoy)” by Claudio Millacura. Millacura is an anthropologist of the La Frontera university and PhD of the university of Chile, also he is mapuche and consent of his native condition.

In the class he talked about different topics, about rights, reparation for the victims, native life and justice, in a begging he talked about the arrived to the Spanish people to America and the colonial period, he explained the mistreated and abuses who suffered the native people.

I like the course because I learned about the life of the indigenous in current times, this is important because the indigenous people are constantly mistreated in Chile for the 

State, and is important understand this to generate a change in the society. The indigenous has been constantly looked down upon throughout history, the general people believe in the idea that the native people are poor, lazy and drunk.

Is for this that I like this type of classes, because it seeks to question the society and our human construction.

An important photograph

This is an important photograph for me because I took it in Peru the first time I went, specifically in Machu Picchu.

In general, I like to take photos when I travel instead of taking selfies, because then I see them when I'm in Santiago and I remember the sensations that the places produced me.

I love to travel, to know new places and to live new experiences, strange as they are.

I like this particular photograph as it is different from the typical photos of Machu Picchu, and that makes it personal and meaningful, since it reminds me of the things that caught my attention in that place, I remember that the most beautiful thing for me was the mountains and the clouds, feeling fragile and small in that space was a remover and is undoubtedly an experience that would live thousands of times again.

Another of the things that I like about this picture is the quality of it, I took it with a digital camera, but it looks like it's analogous, that looks old and worn, that you can see the Inca ruins and also see how the clouds get entangled with the place.

This photo was taken at dawn, that's why the mountains look so dark, since the sun was just rising.

This photography I like because it brings me nice momeries and a lot of peace.

The feminist age

I think we are living a new beginning which is important to generate a change in human relations, that is why the feminist strikes that we lived a while ago and that are still dormant are essential to change the society in which we develop.

I feel it can be uncomfortable for people in general, but is very necessary, because the women in this society are less valuable than men, and can often be treated as an object and not as a human.

In both photographs we see advertisements that are based on women as an object of sexual desire, which subtly allows understanding what women live on a daily basis.

But this is not the only thing that male chauvinism does, it also denigrates them by installing gender roles that are restrictive with women.

It is because of this and more than I think it is very necessary to begin to modify the thinking that we all have, and if for this we must lose classes or bother those who do not like it, we have to do it.

Paranormal Events

The paranormal events are very strange, it's a situation in which I wouldn't like to be because I think this is real, this is in case of ghosts, bad spirits or alien.

But I don't believe in all experiences of this type, some seem false to me, because a lot cases are prepared for the people. 

This photography is a alien autopsy in 1945, this corpse was found for Roswell in this year and was taken to perform an autopsy, but this story is false, years later, in 1947, Roswell confessed the lie.

Other false case is the Fairies of Cottingley

This photography was captured by Frances Griffith and Elsie Wright in their home in Cottingley, the expert in photography of that time assured that this were real, but in 1978 James Randi discovered that this and other photographs were false.

In my opinion these situation are delicate because a lot of people believe in a paranormal events and is difficult force them to believe that is false.

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is the pencil, a pencil is a simple tool, everyone use it to write and draw principally. A pencil is in my bag all the time, is very important to me because I organize my life whit a pencil in my calendar, besides whit a pencil I write in my classes and in my life.

A pencil is a fundamental tool, is very basic but when I don’t have a pencil is terrible, I don´t working if I don´t have a little pencil, I use every day, all the day.

I really like this tool because I think it is a fundamental part in the history of humanity, all the writings about of history or whatever started whit a simple pencil or a similar tool.

The life without a pencil would be very different, because probably would never have written and drawn, there would not be masters like Da Vinci or Picasso.
